Refreshing Japanese alcoholic drink with the taste of umesho, a Japanese plum. This traditional umesho is made with barley shochu alcohol and plums from Saga Prefecture. Plums are soaked in shochu according to a very old manufacturing method. The only added ingredient is sugar to offset the acidity of the plums. Shochu is a distilled alcohol usually made from rice, sweet potato or barley, as used in this umeshu. Barley shochu, made by the producer himself, brings a strong and full flavor that goes well with the sweet and sour fruits.
