Maseca is made of 100% natural corn and is vital for the good diet, its high nutritional value and is synonym of health and energy. Maseca is a Gruma global brand which has enabled us to bring the taste of Mexico to the entire world through a product that represents flavor, health and quality, such as tortillas and products derived from corn flour.
In 1949 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, we founded the first "nixtamal" corn flour facility in the world. Maseca was the name that Mr. Roberto González Barrera gave to this revolutionary product, which comes from "masa seca" (dry dough), i.e., dehydrated corn flour.
Maseca started to position itself as a synonym for quality, but also as a staple food on Mexicans' tables.
