It is pumpkin season! In this time of the year, the yellow/orange fruit is almost impossible to miss. What did you think of a delicious Pumpkin Pie for a cozy night or a family gathering with Thanksgiving? In this blog you can read how to make a sweet Pumpkin Pie by yourself.
Firstly, we are going to make and bake the crust of the pie. After we put the crust into the oven, we can start with the filling. A tip from us: use a higher baking shape so you have a bit more space. You will need it!
Ingredients
Ingredients for the crust:
- 80 grams of granulated sugar
- 160 grams unsalted butter
- 225 grams of flour
- 1/2 egg
- Pinch of salt
Preparing the crust:
- Put the ingredients in a bowl and knead it until it has a firm structure.
- Wrap the bowl in foil and keep it refrigerated for a minimum of one hour.
- Prepare a workspace by spreading some flour on it.
- Take the mix out of the refrigerator and roll it out on the workspace.
- Make sure to keep a thickness of about 5 mm when rolling out the crust.
- Put the crust into the baking shape and give it some extra space. The crust will shrink a little bit because of the heat in the oven.
- Put a piece of baking paper in the baking shape and share a blind baking filling on the baking paper.
- You can now put the crust in the oven for 20 minutes on 180 degrees.
- After 20 minutes you can take the crust out of the oven and remove the blind baking filling and the baking paper.
- Now you can put the crust in the oven again for about 10 minutes. While you are waiting you can already start to prepare the filling of the pie.
Ingredients for the filling:
- Natural Pumpkin Puree, 425g
- 175 grams light brown sugar
- 250 ml whipped cream
- 150 ml whole milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon Pumpkin Spice Mix

Preparing the filling:
- Put all the ingredients above in a bowl and use a garde to mix it well.
- If the crust is ready, take it out of the oven and pour the filling onto the crust. You can fill the baking shape until just under the edge.
- Bake the pie for about 45 minuten on 160 degrees in the oven.
- After +- 45 minutes you can check if the pie is ready. The middle of the pie may be a little bit flexible and that is fine. Take the pie out of the oven when ready and let it cool down. You can also put the pie in the refrigerator for a few hours.
- When the pie is cooled down, you can serve it!
- You can store the pie for about three to four days in your refrigerator.
