This ready-made marinade contains a rich mix of herbs and spices, including garlic, coriander and a hint of lemongrass, which together provide the characteristic flavour of traditional Indonesian satay.

In Indonesia, there are dozens of types of satay, each with their own unique marinade and preparation method. Satay Ayam (chicken satay) is the most popular, but there is also Satay Kambing (goat meat) or Satay Lilit from Bali.
Recipe Satay
Ingredients for 4 persons:
- 1 packet of marinade for satay
- 450 g meat (chicken, lamb or beef), cut into 2 cm pieces.
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- cucumber slices and egg as garnish (optional)
Preparation:
- Marinate the meat with the marinade and the oil. Let the meat stand covered for at least 2 hours.
- Thread the meat onto wooden skewers.
- Roast the satay sticks for 8-10 minutes. Rub the sticks at least 2 times with the remaining marinade. Turn the sticks regularly. Serve the sticks with Asian Home Gourmet Peanut Sauce and garnish the dish with the cucumber and onion.
